Viagra (Sildenafil) belongs to the class of drugs known as cGMP Specific phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PED5 Inhibitor). The effects of Viagra are very straightforward and primarily surround ED treatment. ED can be caused by the lack of blood flow into the penis, which Viagra can remedy. The specifics of action involve the binding of nitric oxide to the guanylate cyclase receptors, which increases cGMP levels.
