Turinabol (4-chlorodehydromethyltestosterone) is somewhat of a unique anabolic steroid. Specifically, Turinabol is a cross between Methandrostenolone and Clostebol. This provides a steroid with powerful anabolic action while at the same time minimizing androgenic characteristics. Turinabol, officially known as 4-chlorodehydromethyltestosterone is basically a structurally altered form of Dianabol (Methandrostenolone), which itself is a derivative of testosterone. The structural makeup of Turinabol is very simple. The compound is simply the testosterone hormone with an added double bond at carbon 1 and 2, which alters the anabolic to androgenic ratio in favor of anabolic. It also carries an added Chloro group at carbon 4, which inhibits the hormone from aromatizing and further reduces its androgenic nature. Turinabols most pronounced effect will be its effect on muscular endurance meaning its would be better utilized by a strength and speed athlete rather than the bodybuilding crowd. Although this may be true turinabol is still an effective compound and may be used in a cycle in place of dbol when the individual is looking to make leaner dryer gains. It may also be used in a “cutting” phase as well to maintain muscle mass, produce a harder appearance and help with fatigue due to its effect on endurance.
